Webdesk, TNI Falakata, 07th September, 2016: A deer calf was today discovered by the villagers at South Deogaon village of Falakata Block. The villagers called up the Forest Department for rescuing the deer calf. The Calf went off running the whole day and lastly fell in a pond. Later the villagers themselves rescued the calf from the pond and handed over to the Forest officials. The deer calf is around 3 ft in length and has a reddish color. It also had horns. It is expected that it might have come to the forest losing its way. On the other hand, there are questions raised about the role of the forest department in guarding the wild animals of the forest. This is because over the last few years there incidents of wild animal infiltration in the village. Along with that the forest officials sometimes ignore the calls regarding animal infiltrations.
